Size small, with i-cord trim on the legs.

(The big Peace Fleece order came in, and as of yesterday I've discharged my duty to the other members of the group order, so I will be casting on and knitting like a madwoman starting today! Hope to have lots more FO photos soon!)

Because so many items are depending on the large Peace Fleece order that I'm expecting in another week and a half, current customs will definitely run into October. Here's the status:

1. C. wool doublers; wetbag and changing pad to match Heather Ross "Fish in Bags" fabric -- one doubler made, changing pad on the needles
2. S. Peace Fleece longies in Periwinkle and Fog -- shipped
3. K. Three Irish Girls Longies and Malabrigo soaker in "Violetas" -- shipped
4. A. Newborn longies in pink and green Peace Fleece -- hold for yarn
5. A. Newborn/small assortment (longies x 2, soakers x 2) -- one pair longies on the needles, the rest hold for yarn
6. J. Birthday longies! Gray and black Peace Fleece -- hold for yarn
7. S. Child shorties & large longies YYMN -- wait for yarn and measurements

Teal longies

These longies were knit in Three Irish Girls' Lindon merino (an aran weight cottony soft yarn) dyed in their Sheridan colorway -- all shades of teal. The waistband and drawstring are bulky weight organic merino wool for a heavenly treat next to the baby's skin.

Yarn input, please

I'm planning a very large order of Peace Fleece in a little over one week. If you're on the waitlist and want to weigh in on my color choices, or even if you're not on the list but want to share your likes and dislikes, let me know!

Customs: K's longies and C's changing pad are both on the needles and moving right along!

Input, please!

I'm posting like crazy today, I know. :) But I'm having so much fun designing and creating wonderful fluff that it's all I can think about!

So here's the thing about the customs list. I don't want it to get too long. That's bad for you to have to decide that you want something only to wait and wait for it! And it's bad for me when your spot comes up months down the line and you say, "Oh, I don't need that anymore, it's been too long."

BUT I don't want to turn ANYONE away, and I want to be fair to the people who have expressed interest but didn't quite commit to a specific item yet.

SO what do you think of this idea? On a permanent, ongoing basis, I will keep two lists. The customs list will be a firm commitment from you to purchase and from me to give you a reasonable estimate of when your item will be completed, hopefully within a timeframe of less than a month. Right now I'm mostly taking a deposit only when I start work, but I may move to taking a deposit to go on this list.

So, in order to keep everyone in the loop who is interested, I will keep a more informal waitlist running. I will keep the customs list short, and when the end is in sight and I've gotten any non-customs out of my system, and I feel that I can once again do justice to a one-month timeframe, I will offer spots to the waitlist in order -- with NO hard feelings if you decline your spot or choose to be re-bumped to the back of the line!

Does that make sense to anyone but me? LOL. Do long waits for custom orders bother you, or would you rather have your place secured regardless of how long it takes to get there?

It's September 1 which seems like a good time to start the countdown toward delivering on my current customs, and doing some non-custom stocking, with a goal of re-opening on October 1. :)

I'll try to do regular updates...here's the current soaker as of last night:

Closing for customs...

1. C. wool doublers; wetbag and changing pad to match Heather Ross "Fish in Bags" fabric -- hold for one more day
2. S. Peace Fleece longies in Periwinkle and Fog -- will ship
3. K. Longies (still deciding on yarn) and Malabrigo soaker in "Violetas" -- on the needles
4. A. Newborn longies -- waiting to know baby's sex
5. A. Newborn/small assortment -- finalizing details
6. J. Birthday longies!

I'll add one or two more items, but then I'm closing temporarily. I want to make sure these people get their items in a reasonable timeframe, and that I don't stress over deadlines. :) I expect for the current list to take around a month, and I'll re-open around early October. Watch this space! :D (If there's a lot of interest in the meantime, I'll start a waitlist so I can contact people in order when I re-open.)
